VEHEMENT SERENADE News & Update

The melting pot for some of hardcore and metalʼs premier groups.

Vehement Serenade finally unveils itʼs sound this fall with a debut 7” featuring two tracks that showcase their dynamic and relentless vision of metal meets post hardcore (B-side track limited to this release only). Led by heavyweight veterans Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, Freya), Mike Couls (Skarhead, Cro-Mags, Agents Of Man ), Jamin Hunt (Sworn Enemy, Hatework), Eddie Ortiez (Sub-Zero, Cattle Press, Candiria) and Pauly Antignani (Sworn Enemy). Cultivating and honing a style that embraces each memberʼs experience and history, Vehement Serenade unites their strengths and combines their specialized knowledge into a sound that ignites both passion and fury.

Recorded and produced by Joey Z of Life Of Agony @ Method Of Groove Studios in Brooklyn, NY. The band plans to spend the rest of the year appearing at limited engagements including East Coast Tsunami Fest 3 on September 29th and 30th w/ Sick Of It All, H2O, Biohazard, Agnostic Front, Madball, Vison Of Disorder, Cro-Mags and DRI where the, special, limited color  7″ EP will be available. Also, stay tuned for a debut full length in spring 2013.

MQ & SKAM DUST Invade Japan

Legendary graffiti artist MQ and SKAM DUST are heading o Japan this week to kick off the Skam Fest and the Adidas endorsed, All Day I Dream About Stickers events. Skam Fest features Skam Dust himself, MQ & DJ Shark with special guests on both Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th. The A.D.I.D.A.S. event is also on the 25th at The Last Gallery at what appears to be 6:00pm.

BACKTRACK Tour Date Announced For Dingbatz

New York’s newest pride and joy, Backtrack will be hitting the East Coast for a week in August with California’s Soul Search in tow as well as a brand new NYHC band, No One Rules (featuring ex members of Backtrack). BNB will be handling the New Jersey date on August 19th at Dingbatz (see attached flyer). The remainder of the dates are as follows;

Freddy Cricien’s (MADBALL) TOP 5: NYHC Albums : Metalinsider.net

 

Freddy Cricien has been a part of the New York hardcore scene for most of his life, having performed onstage with his brother/Agnostic Front vocalist Roger Miret by the time he was 7 years old. And not only did he go on to form Madball, but also recorded their highly revered debut Ball Of Destruction, all at the age of 12. Since then, Freddy and Madball have continued to go strong, most recently releasing their new EP Rebellion via his own label Black N Blue.

In other words, not many could better evoke the spirit of NYHC better than Freddy Cricien. That’s why we thought it would be interesting to see which five NYHC albums the Madball frontman would pick as his favorite.
